Why, then, is this blog here? Well, the short answer is that I want to design, and hopefully build, a new type of RepRap machine. This blog will be used to document that process. Eventually, I want to produce a cheap, simple reprap machine that can be entered in the Gada Prize. (Why? Because I need something to shoot for.) Fortunately, I have until the end of 2012 to get all this done.
So, what is the current status of this project?
Well . . . . Barely started. In terms of design, I have a concept, and a few sketches (I'll probably be posting these next). In terms of actually building a device - I have a long way to go. I'm in the process of building a reprap now (mendel) as part of a team of coworkers. Once we have that one built, we are going to use it to build additional machines, one of which will be mine. After that is complete, I will begin building the T-Rap. Wish me luck. I have a lot of work to do. In my free time, I'm going to start developing the design. I'll start posting the details here when ever I reach a major milestone in the design. In the mean time, anyone who reads this blog is welcome to make use of my ideas in their own designs.
